Weekly drop-in meetings for family and friends

Finding the family & Friends meeting was a game changer for me as they had all walked in my shoes . the group were so warm and friendly, they gave me so much advice and guidance. Most important of all we had a good laugh which I never thought I would do but humour is important in the dark times.

Support for Families with Loved Ones in the ICU

When a loved one is admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), it can be a distressing and bewildering experience. The uncertainty and intense emotions can make this time feel incredibly isolating. However, you are not alone. Our community is here to offer support, empathy, and guidance during this challenging time. Even in stressful times, it's important to find moments to relax and laugh. Laughter lightens the mood and provides a break from tension. Although you may not expect it, we often manage to have a laugh in our drop-in meetings!

Hi my name is Amanda. My husband, Grizz was in ICU on a ventilator for 10 weeks in 2021. For five of those weeks he was intubated & in an induced coma. I was lucky to have a great support network around me but no one really understood how I was feeling until I found the Family & Friends Drop-in. I credit the group with keeping me sane(ish). They listened whilst I cried, never judged & gave me hope when it seemed it was hopeless.
I love running the group now as I remember how desperate I felt so I want to try & help others in a similar situation.

Hi, I'm Sarah. In 2020, my husband spent three weeks in an induced coma and a total of three months in ICU on a ventilator. This was a challenging time and I was lucky to find support through the CC-SN Family and Friends group from people who had been through similar experiences. Inspired by their help, I joined the CC-SN committee to assist others facing similar struggles.
