Our Exercise Group is run by Joanne and Gareth who are qualified and experienced trainers, you can find out a little more about them on this page.  We aim to help anyone who has been in ICU rebuild their strength and get moving again.

The sessions are FREE for anyone who has been a patient in any ICU - they are funded by Critical Care Support Network.  Relatives are welcome too!

We have a really friendly group and whilst we are on Zoom, there is still plenty of opportunity to chat and members are keen to encourage each other.

Zoom is an app that is free to download and easy to use - we are happy to help you set it up if necessary.

Please get in touch using the Contact Us button below if you would like to join the Group.

We invite all new members to an Induction session to allow our trainers to learn about your particular issues and also to allow you to ask any questions and discuss any concerns you may have.

We now have 4 types of classes:

  • A shorter twice weekly Start Up class for those more recently discharged from hospital or new to exercising.

  • An Improvers Class, also twice a week,  which suits the majority of our members as they progress and rebuild strength.

  • A weekly Advanced class for those who have been with us for a while and are well on the road to recovery  and are getting ready to return to work or normal life.

  • Core Control - a weekly Start Core Control session and Advanced Core Control also weekly.  The starter class is largely chair based whilst advanced is largely floor based so you need to be able to get down and back up safely.  A strong core is essential for most daily activities including walking - these sessions are a modified form of Pilates especially adapted to suit the needs of our members.

Joanne and Gareth have recorded a video giving you more information about each of their classes and demonstrating a few of the exercises - please watch to find out if you think they would benefit you but remember they are always happy to tell you how to adjust any exercise so that it suits your particular  needs and limitations.

Please get in touch for more information and to book an Induction session.

I loved bodybuilding as a young man but took up boxing at the age of 21 which was a huge game changer for me.  I then qualified as a personal trainer and much more.

OCR 2 in teaching exercise and fitness

OCR 2 in Gym instruction

OCR 2 In teaching circuit training

NVQ Level 2 Fitness instructor

LEVEL 3 Advanced Personal Training

Boxercise instructor

Mat Pilates instructor

Level 3 sports massage

I’m now putting all my focus into 1-1 online coaching for people of all fitness levels and ability. However, I do still offer 1-1 and group fitness classes in person.

I love challenges, I love fitness, and most of all I love working with people of all backgrounds fit or unfit and watching them progress and reach their fitness goals.

Fitness is my life I love it.
